Prof. Salvatore Arpaia

Salvatore Arpaia is a PhD from Wageningen University, currently working as a senior scientist with ENEA, the Italian national agency for new technologies, energy, and the sustainable economic development. Salvatore is an insect ecologist who has been working for more than 20 years on the biosafety of genetically modified organisms and environmental risk assessment studying insects as bioindicators. His current research interests are the possible applications of RNAi for controlling insect pests in the agricultural and livestock sectors and of environmental risk assessment of phytoremediation activities in contaminated areas.
