Researchers or RATION by the Hellenic Agricultural Organization - DEMETER and the University of Thessaly have developed and validated a new RT-qPCR method to quantify dsRNA molecules used in plant protection products in environmental samples like soil. This is a major breakthrough considering that soil is a particularly complex environmental matrix which poses a major challenge for the detection of such molecules. This publication opens new pathways for the determination of the exposure and environmental fate of dsRNA molecules.
