Panagiotis Ioannidis

Dr Panagiotis Ioannidis is an environmental scientist with a PhD in insect microbiology. He successfully defended his PhD thesis in 2008 and has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in different labs for the last 12 years (INRA-Nancy, Univ Maryland Baltimore, Univ Geneva, and IMBB-FoRTH). He has extensive experience in bioinformatics and has been working on projects related to insect genomics and transcriptomics and insecticide resistance for several years. At his current position he is working on transcriptomics of insects with an agricultural and a public health impact. He serves as reviewer for various scientific journals (Insect Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Scientific Reports, Insects, Frontiers in Genetics, Frontiers in Plant Science, Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, Frontiers in Microbiology, Pest Management Science, GigaScience), the National Science Center of Poland, and the National Science Foundation of Switzerland. He has a proven track record (Google Scholar) in insect genomics and transcriptomics.
