Judith is a PhD candidate with the Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality Management Group (AEW) at Wageningen University and Research. She will be conducting her PhD research in the RATION project focusing on aquatic ecotoxicology of low-risk pesticides and is mainly involved in work packages 2 and 3.
She obtained her BSc degree in Agricultural Science specialization plant sciences from the University of Bonn, Germany and her MSc degree in Environmental Science specialization aquatic ecology at Wageningen University. Previous research topics include the effects of noise pollution on freshwater macroinvertebrates (at AEW), utilizing cognition in guppies for fish welfare assessment (Behavioural ecology group at Wageningen University) and identification of key species in community composition of macroinvertebrates in protected peat lakes at the Atlantic Technological University in Galway, Ireland.
For her PhD in RATION she is supervised by Paul van den Brink and Nico van den Brink and will be conducting laboratory tests with standard and non-standard aquatic test species at different scales.
